Tom Evans has played trumpet with the band from the start. Initially more of a rock-steady, ska player, funk has been a new venture. Trained classically, Tom in fact pursued the drums for a long time as a lead instrument, playing for several years with various classic rock bands. Drumming now only occasionally with various ad hoc drum 'n' bass groups, the trumpet is very much Toms keen interest.
The Red Soul Brigade has really brought to life that somewhat funky man inside of Tom. Though ska still remains a passion, drum 'n' bass also, and pretty much whatever else may be going, the funk is undeniably where it's at.
